One Family UK

One Family UK actively supports the work of One Family in Israel through fundraising and hosting of victims of terror through the year. One Family UK is dedicated to helping all those in Israel whose lives have been blighted by terror attacks. Founded in 2001, the organisation has hosted over 500 victims of terror in the UK, runs annual educational programmes in schools and university campuses and raises an average of £750,000 every year and organises trips and missions to Israel for UK donors.

One Family UK was set up in 2001 to support, raise funds and improve awareness for the same organisation in Israel-One Family, at the start of the Second Intifada. At this time, Israeli citizens were facing daily terror attacks on their buses, in their cafes and as they did their shopping. Youngsters we're being killed and families torn apart for no other reason but for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. A group of friends from the UK decided to make a difference. After hearing of the terrible atrocities in Israel and the desperate need for help and understanding - One Family UK was born! They held an awareness evening and started raising money through various events, appeals and direct donations.

"One Family is now such a huge part of all of our lives and our hearts."

Now One Family UK raises around £750,000 each year, it organises 3 respite trips to London a year for at least 20 people at a time. All of whom have been affected by terror attacks and are all bereaved and or injured. These organised trips allow some real rest and relaxation from the huge responsibilities they face back home. The knowledge that someone somewhere outside of Israel care so much about their wellbeing has the most incredible healing powers and often their lives are split between "Life before London and life after London!".

One Family UK has a great team of passionate individuals with a never ending amount of energy and enthusiasm.

How much does One Family UK raise a year?

One Family UK raises around £750,000 a year from donations, appeals and events.

How can I get involved?

There are many different ways to get involved with One Family UK. Organising fundraising events, twinning Bar or Batmitzvah's, hosting respite trips for small groups, selling cards over festive times, helping on days out when groups come to London. Setting up One Family committees in your local areas. Getting involved with our fund raising events e.g. Its a knockout! One Family UK is always happy to talk to people who are interested in making a difference. Please contact us for more information.

Do you just help Jews / Israelis?

One Family UK helps anyone who has been affected by terror attacks in Israel - regardless of nationality, race or religion.

How many people is One Family supporting?

One Family is currently supporting more than 3,000 families.

Does One Family assist families based in the West Bank?

One Family is an apolitical charity helping all citizens of Israel including those living in the West Bank. One Family does not hold any political views on those living in the West Bank or any of the disputed territories. Our only concern is to help those who have been affected by a terrorist atrocity.

Why does One Family help soldiers?

In the aftermath of the military activity in Lebanon in the summer of 2006 and the conflict in Gaza in 2009, the Israeli Government decreed that all soldiers hurt or killed as a result of the war with Hezbollah or Hamas should be deemed victims of terror. For One Family, this has meant hundreds of new victims and families in need of our support.

Are victims of terror supported by the Israeli Government?

Yes – but not enough. Whilst the Israeli Government provide basic support, One Family go the extra mile to give back the life as to how it was before the incident. This starts from the moment the incident occurs and continues with hospital visits, tuition, financial assistance and counselling, One Family is with each victim for as long as they need our help.
