More than £800,000 was raised on Monday 18th November as over 450 guests packed the ballroom at the Grosvenor House hotel for the One Family UK 2015 dinner.
Co-Dinner Chair Lauren Breslauer, welcomed guests and spoke of her personal commitment to One Family.
Co-host of the Dinner, Hilton Nathanson, spoke of the importance of supporting Israel before introducing guest speaker His Excellency Ron Dermer, Isreal’s ambassador to the USA. He spoke of the important work that One Family undertakes in Israel and about the rise of militant extremists around the world.
Chairman Naomi Nevies explained the vital role that One Family in Israel undertakes and how the support of the UK community is critical to the organisation. Naomi introduced the One Family band, a group of musicians all of whom have lost an immediate family member to a terrorist attack in Israel and who have found a way of rebuilding their lives through music. The band played a moving rendition of Sarit Hadad’s “Shema Yisrael” receiving a standing ovation.
Co-Dinner host Stuart Roden, made an appeal asking guests to help shoulder the responsibility for all those whose lives have been torn apart by terror.
Claire Randall summed up the evening with a vote of thanks.
